Authorities have charged registered sex offender Todd Kohlhepp with four counts of murder, with possibly more to come, after the 45-year-old sc resident confessed to killing four people at a motorcycle shop in 2003. Carver's was the body that was found on Friday, Wright said.
A SC convicted rapist killed at least seven people in a hidden crime spree that lasted more than a decade and only was uncovered when police rescued a woman locked in a storage container, authorities said Saturday. The first body was found last week. A woman, identified as the 30-year-old Brown, was being held against her will inside, "chained up like a dog", Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright said.
After being charged with the kidnapping of the woman who was found chained in the storage container, the suspect allegedly confessed to killing four people 13 years ago in a SC town.
Wright did not know when further charges might be brought against Kohlhepp, but Solicitor Barry Barnette said other charges are likely.
His third request, according to the sheriff, was to transfer money to pay for college tuition for a girl he is helping to raise.
Kohlhepp appeared in court on Sunday for a bond hearing for his murder charges.
Kohlhepp has chosen to represent himself and not retain an attorney, Wright told the Spartanburg Herald-Journal.
Kevin Bobo told Greenville News that investigators were aware of the Amazon reviews, but called them secondary to the ongoing search of Kohlkepp's property. He has been a registered sex offender since he was released from prison in 2001 after serving a 15-year kidnapping sentence for the abduction and rape of a 14-year-old neighbor in Tempe, Ariz., when he was 15.
It was an abrupt but perhaps not unexpected turn for a man who spent his 20s in prison, but after his release managed to get a private pilot license, build a real estate firm with more than a dozen agents, and buy almost 100 acres of land and erect a fence around it said to have cost $80,000.
SOUTH CAROLINA (CNN) - Investigators combing a South Carolina farm over the weekend found what the owner allegedly told them was hidden there: a body. He declined to elaborate. Human remains were uncovered Sunday at one of those sites, Wright said.
Brown told investigators that she had watched Kohlhepp shoot her boyfriend. He said those locations will not be revealed in effort to preserve the investigation. Human remains were found in one gravesite Sunday. Authorities have found another b.
Carver died of multiple gunshot wounds.
"She's the hero", Brackman said. The identity of those potential victims, as well as their time and cause of death, has not been revealed.

'Your honor, I appreciate your words to us and your counsel, ' Tom Lucas said as two others put their hands on his shoulders.
