"The start was super, I didn't have any wheel spin and I think it was the best start they ever had at Red Bull".
"Wow, I am shaking.I am speechless", an emotional Hamilton said after being presented with Senna's helmet.
Vettel's Ferrari team were also slow on the uptake after they failed to spot the German had sustained damage until the safety auto - deployed after Carlos Sainz and Felipe Massa crashed out on the opening lap - pitted and the race resumed.
"They did such great work analysing what went wrong and giving us a summary and saying this is where we went wrong". "It was incredible teamwork".
"Here the auto was back where it should be". I felt something out of Turn 6, 7, and then there was a safety auto.
Seven races in, Hamilton now trails Vettel by 12 points with both men having three wins each this season.
The safety vehicle was deployed to deal with Sainz's stricken Toro Rosso, with Hamilton leading from Verstappen and Bottas.
A bigger crash took Felipe Massa and Carlos Sainz out of the race just seconds later.
"What a mental guy", Grosjean told his pit crew about Sainz over the radio.
Vettel lined up second on the grid but was down to fourth at Turn 1, passed by Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas on the inside and Verstappen on the outside - with the Red Bull's right-rear wheel clipping off a piece of the Ferrari's front wing. Grosjean pitted at the end of lap one for a new front wing. "I will always remember it", he said.
"I knew where he was", admitted Hamilton. Instead he pit for fresh rubber, knowing full well his opponents wouldn't have to, gambling that he would be able to make up the loss in time and then overtake them in the 20 laps that remained.
Force India also had its problems, despite another strong double-points finish with Pérez in fifth and Ocon in sixth.
With Hamilton extending his lead, the battle was on for podium places with Ricciardo holding firm in the end from the Force India cars of Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon, and latterly Vettel, who was left ruing his unfortunate coming together with Verstappen at the start.
"It was still a challenge but it was like the other races I've had here where I've qualified in the lead and it's been so well-managed". I am very, very proud to be a part of this team. It was a scintillating duel between Hamilton and Vettel, adding another line in what is shaping up as a season long fight. "I was just hoping the auto held together, and fortunately it did". To repeat it is incredibly special.
"I asked to check and then behind the safety auto, with the damage, was so slow that you couldn't really feel it".
"You can never let yourself get discouraged", he said.
