The RA NA deputies Hrayr Tovmasyan, Naira Zohrabyan, Margarit Yesayan and Karen Avagyan were awarded Blood Donor honourable badge for showing active participation in the process of voluntary blood donation.
The focus of this year's event is blood donation in emergencies.
Red Cross spokeswoman Sandee Thompson said recipients like Charlotte saw everyday Aussies as heroes due to their gift of life. An adequate and reliable supply of safe blood can be assured by a stable base of regular, voluntary, unpaid blood donors. It is one of the eight official global public health campaigns marked by the World Health Organization (WHO) to raise awareness about the need for safe blood and blood products.
"At my Suva office I sit next to a man who has donated blood nearly 100 times, imagine how many lives he has saved", Ms Ambler said.
"If people are coming in less often that means we need more people coming into the clinic to fulfil that demand", she said.
The Blood Service says each donation has the potential to save the lives of three people.
