Unsurprisingly, for the first time since he arrived in SW19, an entire Murray press conference passed without anybody mentioning the "H"-word".
Two-time champion Murray maintained his ideal record of reaching the third round at the event. "Until right at the end I was serving well and getting lots of free points". In the victory, Murray won 84 percent of his first serve points and 74 percent of his second serve points. The nickname shifted to Murray when he came on the scene and eventually ended the country's 77-year wait for a homegrown men's victor when he won the title in 2013.
Murray said his hip had not been a problem. "But I think Andy's done a pretty tremendous job of doing that", she said. "I think that's probably a good enough reason". I hit a lot of good passing shots.
"I feel good and hopefully it stays that way", he said.
Nadal will next play the No 30 seed Karen Khachanov in the third round while Murray takes on Fabio Fognini of Italy.
Murray navigated past mavericks Sasha Bublik and Dustin Brown with minimal fuss in the first two rounds and, though Fognini marks a step up in pedigree, he acknowledges that preparing should be easier.
"Most of the guys you play, you can try to find a way where you know you can hurt them", Brown noted. The most recent match was in this years Rome Masters, a match Fognini won in straight sets.
At 19 years old, she has made the first round of every Slam this year and also reached the second round in Australia, where she lost out to Britain's Johanna Konta. The hulking Czech made the last 16 here a year ago, but No 28 seed Fognini won 7-6, 6-4, 6-2, acknowledging after the match that it was his best display ever at Wimbledon. He clocked up his 850th career victory as he cruised through his first round match on Monday and next faces Donald Young of the United States, the world number 43, in the third match up on Centre Court.
Konta had a scare against Croatia's Donna Vekic, eventually coming through 7-6, 4-6, 10-8.
"I have concentrated really well on my own service games which is positive".
He said: "I'm going to have to try and play the same way, play aggressive. Once he got that break, it just become very hard".
Nishikori advances to face No. 18 Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, who also needed four sets to advance with a 6-2, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 triumph over German Peter Gojowczyk.
Romanian second seed Simona Halep got into the third round on Wednesday with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Brazil's Beatriz Haddad Maia.
On the women's side, fourth seed Elina Svitolina had a tough second-round match against Francesca Schiavone, but she made it through in dominant form, winning 6-3, 6-0.
In the women's draw, unseeded new mum Victoria Azarenka beat 15th seed Elena Vesnina 6-3, 6-3. "So it is stupid talking about that because is obvious that is completely different sport, and I am not sure if Dustin was talking seriously or not". I think is going to be good match. Lopez is obviously a very good grass-court player.
As Brown soared for a smash, Murray stood his ground.
