Some reports hint that the company may launch both the smartphones by the end of this year. This week, the Nokia 8 leaked out, showing off the new flagship while also giving us details on specifications/features. The Nokia 8 figures to be the high-end entry in that lineup. Besides looking a little altered, the Nokia 105 hasn't got much of an upgraded feature to offer. Nokia is collaborating with Carl Zeiss optics to make the cameras.
While the report does not confirm anything, it is possible that HMD Global will announce the Nokia 8 on the 31 of this month.
In a follow up on the Venture Beat blog, Blass shared a crystal clear product shot of the front and back of the new Nokia 8. As per the rendered image, the handset is seen in Blue color with metal body unibody design and a verticle dual rear camera set up with Carl Zeiss lenses and a flash at the bottom.
On the back, is the vertical dual camera setup. The benchmarking platform has revealed that the Nokia 8 is fueled by Snapdragon 835 that includes an octa-core processor with four cores working at 2.45 GHz and remaining four low performance cores clocking at 1.9 GHz. We are assuming the fingerprint sensor will be present under the home key as there is no fingerprint sensor on the rear side.
After a lackluster start with middle-of-the-road Android phones, the Nokia brand could finally be reinvigorated by the Nokia 8, if the rumors about the high-end Android phone are true. Chances are that HMD Global may launch the phone in two variants - one with the dual-SIM card slot, while the second model may come with single SIM slot. Meanwhile, a Scandinavian retailer has allegedly claimed that the Nokia 8 will go on sale on July 31, and with a price tag of €589 ( comes around Rs 43,415).
Markets like India are still struggling and while the phone are yet to be officially available in India, buyers seem eager, even at prices much higher than global markets.
