Romelu Lukaku may never have completed his £75m move from Everton to United if Griezmann had already arrived, with United's transfer story still evolving since that day in June when their first choice striker target opted declined a big money move.
At first it seemed that the Blues would bring Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge from Everton while United pursued the Real Madrid hitman, but the opposite turned out to be true.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference ahead of the ICC match against Real Madrid, he said, when asked about the rest of the transfer window activity for the club: "Names is hard for me", he was quoted as saying via Dailypost.
It was an insight into what United will get this season from a striker who, for all his tremendous pace, power and goal-scoring ability, also works extremely hard. It's a case of hypocrisy at its very best, but it's natural for fans to defend their own players.
City will also face Real Madrid and Tottenham in the International Championship Cup while United will take on Real Madrid and Barcelona.
"So is Lukaku going to be a game changer?"
And sure, Chelsea did manage to finish last season relatively unscathed - their players lost 324 days of the season (around 13 days per player) - but calling Liverpool lucky for their "no injury" season is laughable. However, statistics seemingly suggest that Morata is the more clinical goal scorer when given the opportunity and will hit the back of the net more frequently than his United counterpart.
He said: "There is one thing, this season is going be a little more balanced because of the fact the top six are all in European competitions. I am waiting for a bit more".
Hernandez is a proven scorer in the English Premier League, having bagged 59 goals during a four-year spell with United. "Last season was a different experience". The manner in which they use their new, marquee signings will go a long way in deciding as to who comes out on top over the next nine-months.
"I'm sorry ICC, we want to give a good show, we want to give good matches, but we are training, and I can not change that mentality", he said.
