The vehicle, a dark BMW auto, hit the soldiers at Place de Verdun in Levallois-Perret at the northwestern edge of Paris on Wednesday at about 8:00 a.m. local time (0600 UTC).
French officials say police have opened fire on a man before he was arrested north of Paris, on suspicion of driving his auto into six soldiers.
Six soldiers have been injured, two seriously, after being hit by a vehicle outside their barracks in a suburb northwest of Paris, according to CNN affiliate BFMTV.

The Levallois-Perret attack was the 15th on soldiers and police since they were deployed in large numbers nationwide after a series of Islamist militant attacks over the past two-and-a-half years.
"Security forces are actively seeking the perpetrator who is on the run", she said before the suspect was apprehended.
To escape arrest, the driver struck one or more vehicles, and the police officers fired several times, according to a justice source.
