There would be no frantic finishes or dramatic comebacks in the latest edition of the Georgia-Tennessee rivalry.
Tennessee was completely outclassed in every facet of the game at home by Georgia in a 41-0 curb-stomping in front of a checkered out Neyland Stadium. Georgia converted 5 of 9 third downs in the first half and 9 of 16 for the game. Sound familiar? This time, the Bulldogs were able to record a shutout, their first of the season. That's not to say that Fromm is comparable to Tom Brady or Lou Gehrig, but he's playing too good to bench right now. But they have good defensive players and we'll learn from them.
I've not sure this comparison fits, but it's all I've got: Tennessee reminds me of an unfettered basketball team. That's the challenge our coaching staff and organization has, to keep this team focused. It's not. It's a bonafide, legitimate, real life College Football Playoff contender that's as threatening as any team in the country.
Jake Fromm threw a touchdown pass and ran for two more scores Saturday as Georgia rolled to a 41-0 blowout of Tennessee.
Meanwhile, the Georgia defense held Mississippi State dual-threat QB Nick Fitzgerald to just 130 total yards and picked him off twice.
Fromm won another big start on the road, just like he did at Notre Dame on September 9. He ran for 20 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries. Eason sprained his left knee in the first quarter of Georgia's season opener against Appalachian State.
10-minute mark: UGA coach Kirby Smart is impressed with one Tennessee player, calling him the best he's seen at his position in quite some time. On its 14 possessions, Tennessee had nine punts, two interceptions, two fumbles and a failed fourth-down conversion. They reached the 1977 National Basketball Association finals and led Portland and Bill Walton 2-0.
"That felt great, giving my team a jumpstart", McGhee said.
Georgia's defense has made things incredibly hard and have put the Volunteers in a bad position for the second half.
Tennessee put a literal donut on the scoreboard.
Jones later added that he'd had enough of local media stirring up negativity around the Tennessee program, and even added a "fake news" quip near the end of his rant.
Fromm also had a well-thrown ball to Javon Wims for a 12-yard touchdown in the first quarter.
Obviously, the first-play pick by Dormady.
This isn't the first time Tennessee honored Manning at Neyland Stadium to see a bitter end.
ABOUT TENNESSEE (3-1, 0-1): The Volunteers survived last week thanks in part to a pass rush that netted seven sacks, Tennessee's highest total in a single game since 2008, and 101 yards rushing from John Kelly.
That makes us.500 for the season, and well, you all know how I feel about losing after last week's article. "That's something we need to take care of inside the team, I guess". The Cowboys forced another punt on Texas Tech's next touch, and then advanced the ball to the Texas Tech red zone before Damarcus Fields grabbed a Rudolph overthrow and returned it 95 yards for a touchdown to level the game at 7-7. Quinten Dormandy completed 17 of 27 passes for 187 yards and a touchdown. Chubb collected 42 yards on three-straight carriers to place Georgia in Tennessee territory.
