D-backs announce Walker as Game 1 starter vs. Dodgers

The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Maury Wills, the 1962 National League MVP when he set a since-broken record with 104 stolen bases and a member of the Dodgers World Series-winning teams in 1959, 1963 and 1965.
One day later, Puig exacerbated the problem by showing up late to a scheduled early batting practice session, and was benched one more day.
The 25-year-old right-hander was picked to start Game 1 of the NL Division Series by manager Torey Lovullo, who plans to give the ball to staff ace Zack Greinke for Game 3 and is leaning toward going with Robbie Ray in Game 2 on Saturday, although he wouldn't commit to that.
"He's full of energy and emotion", manager Dave Roberts said.
Puig and Corey Seager both tripled and drove in two runs for the Dodgers, who finished 11 games ahead of Arizona to earn their fifth consecutive NL West crown.
The Diamondbacks have relied entirely on the home run in the NLDS and they are subsequently down 2-0 in the series.
Roberts is counting on Hill's quirkiness and intensity to overcome what struggles he's had against the Diamondbacks. Then they flat-out guffawed through a lost 2016 season during which the former Cy Young winner looked downright average at times. With the Dodger Stadium crowd chanting his name, Puig added an RBI single to his earlier run-scoring groundout, flipping his bat and pointing back to the Dodgers' dugout as he sprinted toward first base.
The Houston Astros and Brad Peacock (13-2) take a 2-0 American League Division Series (ALDS) lead to Boston, where the Red Sox will look to Doug Fister (5-9) to get them back into the series. "I had a conversation with him today, and he said he felt even better".
On the other side, the Diamondbacks will counter with hard-throwing righty Taijuan Walker. Despite mounting concerns about his nerves, the fact that the big stage gets bigger seems to actually improve his pitching.
Lovullo, though, understands players might not be entirely truthful when it comes to such matters because they want to play so badly. The two wild pitches in the game were also surprising, since Kershaw had four all season prior.
Luckily, there is hope! However, since then, the Cowboys have beaten No. 4 Show Low and No. 5 St. Johns. Rendon did not commit an error in his last 56 regular-season games at third base, finishing the 2017 season with the majors' longest errorless streak at that position.
Some of baseball's norms just don't apply to the exuberant Puig. When he made it, safe, and for reasons he still doesn't completely understand, his tongue was not ready to go back to its dark home. I haven't quite gotten to that decision yet.
In some sense, not much has changed since 2006. "So I think if I just follow my game plan, I think it should be good". But there's another factor. A few Dodgers have hit well against Robbie Ray this year. I only played against lefties. Carl Edwards Junior and Wade Davis each tossed perfect innings of relief to complete the shutout. Cody Bellinger is hitting 1 for 9. "We did that. We've done that the first two games and we put some runs on the board".
"He's loose", Jansen said. He shut them out five times, too.
If the USMNT finishes fourth then they face Australia or Syria in a playoff. We held him back off the Wild Card roster for the potential of this happening.
"The thing is that he stays loose". This season, Kershaw had an earned run average of 2.31 and had a record of 18-4.
