It looks as though the rumours are true - "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" will be offering up another glimpse at the galaxy far, far away this week, as a new trailer debuts this Tuesday morning. On Thursday, December 14, ahead of its official opening on December 15, fans can be among the first to see the film by attending one of three events: An Opening Night Fan Event.
Producers said Leia was meant to have a prominent role in the next Star Wars film, the as yet untitled Episode IX, but that the script was rewritten to honor her death. In another place, a dark gloved hand presumably Kylo Ren's is grabbing his own weapon. These events will also include exclusive content and "Star Wars" collectible cards.
In the teaser, Daisy Ridley's character Rey can be seen undergoing some intense physical training on Ahch-To with a blue lightsaber. He, too, can be heard saying, "Breathe, just breathe" in the background the whole while. Luke Skywalker and Rey are the more popular theories but there's also a chance the title could actually be referring to a group of Jedi.
It was announced recently that during "Monday Night Football" in the US the trailer for "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" would be launching. There's uniforms for First Order and Resistance fighter pilots, weaponry from The Last Jedi's new Elite Praetorian Guard, and an array of guns, equipment and models featured in the new films. In fact, Deadline reported that it was part of the plan. Even with the success of Rogue One, the spinoffs still have a stigma of being "Star Wars filler" in some circles, and this would have been a nice way of cementing their rightful place in the franchise. Coinciding with the trailer release will be the announcement of the start of the advance tickets sale.
