Napa County fire officials said that the wild fires had burned more than 68 square miles, destroying more than 50 structures.
Mandatory evacuations were ordered after blazes broke out late Sunday across four counties as strong winds buffeted the area, the Press Democrat reported Monday.

"Probably many homes and businesses, in the outskirts of Santa Rosa and the city itself", she said.
Many area roads are also closed, including Highway 37 and Highway 12. The boss said firefighters are now concentrating their endeavors on sparing lives as opposed to attempting to stop the bursts.
A wind-whipped wildfire roared to life Sunday night, quickly growing to more than 200 acres on Atlas Peak near the Silverado County Club in Napa County, triggering dozens of evacuations. One Twitter user reported that her building was evacuated after a resident pulled the fire alarm due to the smell.
Gov. Jerry Brown on Monday issued an emergency proclamation for Napa, Sonoma and Yuba counties.
Crews are also battling large wildfires in Napa and Sonoma counties.
Wesley Carr, 23, a resident of Sebastopol in Sonoma County, said on Monday morning that smoke from the fires had enveloped the area.
"Gusty north to northeasterly winds will continue into early Monday afternoon across north-central California, especially in the mountains and down into the foothills", Root said. Earlier, officials said Soda Canyon residents should evacuate.

An emergency evacuation center was full at the Finley Community Center in west Santa Rosa, located at 2060 W. College Ave.
Her neighbor later called her and said her house burned down.
"In a situation like this, it is really important that we be the best we can be", he said.
"I knew that she was unable to drive right now and she was by herself", explained Larsen.
A Hilton Hotel was among the buildings that were left in ruins.
Flames were also burning near the Domaine Carneros winery.
