Motorola Unveils XT531 for Asian, European Markets

A new “budget friendly” Android smartphone, the XT531 has been unveiled by Motorola Mobility, specifically for Asian and European markets. Running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and an 800 MHz processor, the touch screen enabled device has a 3.5 inch display screen and a 5 megapixel camera. More features consist of a front VGA camera, a microSD card slot and support for 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi(802.11b/g/n) and GPS.

The XT531 will be released in China this month with a single SIM card. Another dual SIM model is also said to be launched for a few Asian markets. Users of the smartphone will witness the different names the phone bears considering the place of sale. European users will find the Fire XT in the market, while in Latin America, users will be introduced to the Spice XT. Based upon the same idea, a few markets will also provide Motorola’s own Shop4Apps portal as well as the 250,000 titles scheduled in the Android market.

According to the press release by Motorola, the phone is going to be very “budget friendly” however a specific price has not been published.
